I guess if you have a well-curated collection of mint condition ones that are actually rares, it might be worth a few thousand dollars? Very few of the people who think they have valuable collections have that, though. And it probably has come round far enough that in the right markets some of even the non-rares might be worth a little bit just on vintage/nostalgia value, but that's still hundreds of beanies = thousands of dollars. Your TV is probably worth more.
But even then, if your granddaughters think it's super valuable, it's not because they looked at them and went "Gramma has beanie babies, we're rich!" It's because you've invested a lot of time in telling them that Gramma is rich because she has valuable beanie babies. They aren't going to get there on their own.
