LW and Husband need to get parenting classes focused on parenting a child with ADHD, because if they had, they would know that you can't punish your way out of a learning disability and that, importantly, consequencing simply doesn't work on kids with ADHD. And until they're on the same page with medication PLUS an effective parenting strategy that works for the child they actually have, they'll just be spinning their wheels, and I really wish that the answer had addressed this fact.

On that note, virtual learning isn't necessarily a dealbreaker. My younger niece, who has dyslexia and ADHD, had a lot of problems this past year - but the one bright spot is that she can do really well when she can bounce from subject to subject, five minutes here, five minutes there, take a break, another ten minutes on subject a again....
