I will admit that I did check Child's browsing history until he was thirteen-fourteen and supervised his personal email until eleven-twelve. But both of those were in reaction to his habit of going to warez and old school torrent sites (aka malware, viruses, and me being the home tech support) and because he went through a (thankfully) short-lived phase of broadcasting his very personal info unlocked in Facebook, MySpace, etc because in his age group this was considered rebelling against the olds' restrictive behavior and mean mommy making him use psuedonyms on messageboard and non-Facebook social media and he'd show me!!!!!

I made him give me his passwords, locked it down myself, explained this was the lowest security he was allowed until he was fourteen, and did random checks for a while and lock him out of the wifi if I saw anything I didn't like. And compliance meant he got to change his passwords in sixish months.

(Hint: I never bothered, that was way too much work, but he thought I was watching, and it did set good security habits on his personal accounts to this day. If I can't find them, he's done a good job.)
