It's a small thing, but the mention towards the end of reply #1 about "bad calls" annoyed me: this is a child's game, and the letter says nothing about actual bad calls, only "calls [Nigel] thinks are unfair", which is a different thing entirely. Clearly, he has strong feelings about sports, and seems to include a bias for his son (which is understandable!), but the two together means that he may well be contesting perfectly good calls by the refs, because he feels the need to be That Hooligan at sports.
(I know, refs are human, and sometimes bad calls happen; this is a kid's game, and that should be fine, not a source of adult tantrums and confrontation.)
