One thing I've seen in US state level politics (mostly through the lens of other queer people talking about it, fwiw) is the equation of queer and especially trans/gender variant people with child molesters. That's not a new trick but it's always dangerous when they try to repurpose the revulsion child molesters rightly inspire to smear a group defined by who they are and not any harm they actually did.

Note that the same people pointedly ignore the question of what sort of person would be flailing to sign up for the role of Little Kid Junk Inspector at sporting events.
