#2 As a cook, would cause me some distress -- I would hate to find myself regularly feeding my guest food she didn't want to eat. I'd have a private conversation to ask her if/how I can do better by her, AND THEN if she tells me not to worry about it I would Not Worry About It. Getting mad at her for not eating the food, especially quietly and without complaint, is ridiculous on several different levels. What did LW #2 want, to go back to this guest and say "Miss Manners says you need to clean your plate!"
