what the bloody hell. I wish I could send LW $10K to get out of that house and to have a small cushion. Alas, I don't have it myself.
If there were ever employment that a person must decide on freely... I wish I couldn't believe Brother & SIL were willing to push LW, who obviously doesn't want to do this, but people can be awful even to those you'd think they would protect. Sigh. (and what's with those parents? Does LW have anyone in her corner?)
I'm also angry on behalf of the concept of sex positivity. Part of the current neopuritanism is a reaction (a bit of an allergic reaction, but I can't blame people for this part) to those assaultive assholes who bastardize sex positivity into "sex-requirment" coercion. Ugh.
I'm thinking about the response. It has the ingredients I think it should -- addressing autism and eye contact, advice from a current sex worker, discussion of how sex work is different from other work, reassurance that LW is not obligated or required to do sex work, and pointing out the misuse of sex positivity and feminism. I'm uncertain about the proportions, though. I feel like LW could have used a greater quantity of reassurance that she doesn't have to do this, considering she lives with three people who are pushing her to do so.
I really hope this LW will be okay. I am trying not to wish terrible things on the three pressuring her.
