I admit, we do run into this on the education side of the ADA once in a while. Like, a student having a learning disability (sometimes to the level of what we used to call borderline not-appropriate-word) that genuinely prevents them from completing the cognitive tasks a college-level class requires? Not much we can do about that. Most often, what we find ourselves clarifying is that we will provide lots and lots of support and strategies for a student to complete the course tasks to the same standard as every other student. We won't lower that standard or offer alternative work (although "blind student writing description that excludes sight" seems reasonable enough).

But yes: a. doubting LW's commitment to Sparkle Motion, and b. how's about asking the employee?
