IKR? If I end up back in an office I may ask permission to keep a personal reptile at my desk, because it would bring me joy. (Probably a some kind of gecko. Maybe a small snake if and only if my coworkers are ok with it.)

But the difference between "sure! You can keep your person fishtank/terrarium in the office!" Or even the the president bringing in their personal giant sulcata tortoise which they personally care for, is that *nobody is surprise! Getting a reptile husbandry unpaid job*

And if someone wants a turtle tank and it's part of facility management? With proper training and compensation? That's fine, too! So long as the turtle tank doesn't interfere with raises!
