If the person made the same joke every time I'd get aggravated, but I'd deal with it differently.
(Our former Director of Finance always responded to the phrase "good morning" morosely, even when I said, repeatedly, "you know it's short for 'wishing you a good morning' and I'm tired of this." He didn't stop. I did whine about it to our mutual supervisor, but not in a "something must be done" way. I also found all sorts of creative ways to do polite greetings...)
