If LW really didn't say anything bad, then I don't know why she's not more concerned that her friend thinks she did. Instead of hyper-fixating on the "eavesdropping", shouldn't she be more worried about the fact that Laura is apparently delusional?
Also, LW has some nerve sitting on her high horse about eavesdropping when a. she absolutely said whatever Laura heard and b. she apparently has no trouble engaging in casual gossip. If she thinks Laura should have confronted her directly, she should take her own damn advice! Why is she going around asking friends what Laura's deal is when she could get it from the horse's mouth?
