Yes, I wish the response went into this more. Also, it's not exactly the same issue but with my younger sister, she became very interested in looking 'girly' and then just suddenly stopped wanting to do sports or hiking (which she previously had genuinely loved). A different problem than the original letter (and more an issue with older kids) but, it's like, what do you do in that situation, where it does end up with the child setting limits on herself that are a combination of self- and socially-imposed? Like, what do you think you might have done if your daughter suddenly was resistant to 'boy' things or whatever? Obviously you can't force an interest but it's a bit hard to watch what feels like a very gendered self-selection going on and do nothing.
