I love that book, and its sequels, precisely because the "princess" is shown hiking, playing soccer, etc, and also having tea parties. What's especially neat about one of the sequels is that the "princess's" younger brother is shown as wanting to be like her. The first book and The Paperbag Princess were our bedtime reads for years, and are often the gift I give to baby girls.
