Dear Beast Mode: there's a reason most reputable shelters won't let you adopt unless they get sign-off from all members of the family, and "I guess fine, you can get a dog!" is not sign-off. It's because bringing a pet into a home where not everyone is on board for the pet is cruelty to animals.
