I mentioned above that my spouse and I have put a fair amount of work into countering things my daughter is taught. I think LW would be wise to invest some time into (a) teaching her daughter to think critically about what other people, even people she likes, say, and (b) encouraging her daughter to read works women writers. They don't even have to be commonly taught works. In fact, in some ways, some popular works might be better, because it sounds like, on top of everything else, the teacher is a literature snob who probably puts down more contemporary or genre-based works. I taught Naomi Novik's Spinning Silver this summer, and my students not only enjoyed it, but were able to use literary analysis to explore it.
