LW violated her boyfriend's trust in a huge way. Getting sober laid the foundation for rebuilding trust, but it's still going to take a lot of work. I agree the boyfriend's approach was neither kind nor mature, but if they haven't done the work of rebuilding trust, I'm not surprised it resulted in an episode like this.

People with disabilities can and do have relationships that don't include a major violation of trust, so I think that's a pretty different situation from the one in the letter.
